Olorogun Akporuru Patrick Wheleke, President General of Ughievwen Union, has urged the Ughievwen people to draw inspiration from the spiritual rejuvenation of the Lenten season and rededicate themselves to building a more inclusive society capable of overcoming its challenges.
In his Easter message, Wheleke emphasized that the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ holds special significance in Christian lives, as it provides a platform for the world to build a new life in alignment with God’s divine design for human fulfillment.
“That is why Jesus sacrificed his life for us, and it is the reason he called for the pursuit of building a New Ughievwen Kingdom,” he stated.
He added that Easter offers inspiration to do things differently, realigning with God’s promise of salvation and empowering individuals to act with purpose.
Wheleke further urged Christians within Ughievwen to become more actively involved in efforts that would promote progress for both the Ughievwen people and the world at large.
He noted that the teachings of Jesus Christ advocate for service to humanity.
In his words, he called on Ughievwen sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, to rise to the challenge of building a new Ughievwen and to ensure that God’s commandments remain guiding principles. “Together, we can create a better future,” he concluded.
