The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Ugborikoko Division in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, CSP Omosetemi Agbede-Zuokumor, has credited the successful completion of the new police station to the determination of Tantita’s management and their commitment to ensuring a quality project.
In a goodwill message delivered at the commissioning ceremony held last Friday, April 11, 2024, CSP Zuokumor shared the difficulties she faced while supervising the construction but expressed her unwavering focus and perseverance throughout the process.
She specifically acknowledged the management of Tantita, including its Chairman, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (also known as Tompolo), and the Company’s Managing Director, Chief Kestin Pondi, for their trust in her leadership.
She also appreciated the support from the senior hierarchy of the police force, both locally and nationally, for their assistance in getting the project off the ground.
Her speech included the following remarks: “It is with great pride and gratitude that I stand here as the 10th Divisional Police Officer of Ugborikoko Division. This occasion represents a significant milestone not just for our division but for the Nigerian Police Force and the community we serve.”
“When I took on this role on June 10, 2024, I was confronted with a daunting reality: the former police station was in such disrepair that it was unworthy of the dedicated officers who served there.”
“Understanding the urgent need for change, I contacted my trusted friend and brother-in-law, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd. His steadfast support in our vision for a new, modern police station has been crucial in making this dream a reality.”
“Today, we gather here to celebrate this remarkable structure, officially inaugurated following the laying of its foundation on July 10, 2024. We honor seven months of hard work and dedication.”
“This facility is more than just a building; it symbolizes our commitment to improving the safety and security of our community. In addition to this impressive structure, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd constructed and furnished the gatehouse, which includes security, surveillance, and guard offices.”
“They also renovated and furnished the divisional hall, provided two Hilux vehicles for the division, installed concrete flooring in the compound, and set up a 30 kVA inverter and a 30 kVA Mikano generator.”
“Furthermore, we now have advanced cameras with modern monitoring systems, a fully equipped interrogation room compliant with the new Administration of Criminal Justice Act, and a tactical conference room within this beautiful facility.”
“The new Ugborikoko Police Station is outfitted with state-of-the-art resources aimed at enhancing our operational efficiency and empowering our officers. We are better equipped to serve the residents of Uvwie and surrounding areas.”
“This initiative reflects a significant investment in our police resources, and I am enthusiastic about the collaborative prospects it offers with our community. It stands for a renewed dedication to building trust and fostering relationships with the citizens we protect.”
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for his continuous support and vision for an improved Police Force, as well as to my Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, for allowing me to serve in this capacity and for consistently encouraging me throughout every stage of this project.”
“My sincere gratitude goes to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd for their generous contributions from the initiation to the completion of this project. To High Chief (Engr) Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, the Managing Director of TSSNL, you are a visionary leader who turns ideas into enduring realities.”
“I wholeheartedly appreciate the officers and personnel of this division for their support and the sacrifices they made to ensure the project’s success. Your dedication has significantly improved our capacity to serve effectively.”
“I am excited to announce the launch of the ‘Security Education Advocates Campaign,’ a transformative initiative developed by a dedicated team of Nigerians, including Amb. Pastor Edewor Egedegbe of the Value Rebirth and Empowerment Initiative (VREI) and Amb. (Dr.) Mrs. Onyi Ikemefuna of the Sharmar Educational Foundation.”
“This campaign aims to address the rising tide of crime in our society through education and awareness. The pilot phase, which launched on January 13, 2025, at Delta Career College in Effurun, has already made strides in reaching numerous public and private schools in Warri South, Okpe, and Uvwie local government areas of Delta State.”
“The primary objective of the Security Education Advocates Campaign is to educate and encourage young people to reject crime and avoid drug abuse. The endorsement of this initiative by the Nigerian Police Force is a crucial step towards reducing crime in our communities.”
“Moreover, the campaign is designed to be integrated into the Nigerian educational system, teaching children from an early age about the dangers of crime and the importance of speaking up when they observe wrongdoing.”
“We are bringing this initiative to the attention of the Federal Government of Nigeria, advocating for its adoption as a key strategy to combat criminality in our nation. With full implementation, this innovative approach could greatly improve safety and security nationwide.”
“In conclusion, I wish to thank my husband, ACP Kevin Zuokumor, PSC, for motivating me to reach my potential and for guiding the development of each component of this project to meet the highest police standards.”
“Let us remember that this station is not just a physical presence; it is a beacon of hope and safety for our community. May we all commit to upholding the values of integrity, professionalism, and service that define the Nigerian Police Force.”
“Thank you for your attention, and may God bless us all as we embark on this new chapter in the Ugborikoko Division,” she concluded.
