The member representing Ughelli South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Festus Utuama, has donated additional provisions and foodstuffs to the people of Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
It should be noted that Okuama community was entirely devastated by military personnel after several top military officers and soldiers were killed under controversial circumstances last year.
Moved by the plight of the residents, Hon. Festus Utuama visited Okuama to assess the progress of key projects initiated by the state government aimed at facilitating the swift resettlement of the community.
During his visit, Utuama commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his commitment to the welfare of the Okuama people.
He explained that the importance of the projects—including six-classroom blocks for primary and secondary schools, a health center, and resettlement quarters facilitated by the Local Government Chairman—would significantly aid in rebuilding the community.
The acting President General of the community, Mr. Emmanuel Okrika, expressed gratitude to Hon. Festus Utuama and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for their dedication to the restoration of Okuama.
Okrika assured both Oborevwori and Utuama of the continued support and cooperation of the Okuama people.
