During a strategic meeting held in Asaba, on Tuesday, the Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu Federal Constituency also passed a vote of confidence in Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, commending him for his exceptional development efforts across the state.

In his speech, Mariere emphasized the Governor’s exemplary performance in various sectors, highlighting his accomplishments as deserving of recognition.

In his address following the election, Oguma expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for their trust and called for collective efforts to drive progress within the constituency.

He stated, “We are committed to ensuring that Governor Oborevwori achieves a resounding victory in our area during the 2027 elections.”

Oguma further noted that the newly formed federal constituency steering committee will enhance the existing leadership framework of the party.

He pointed out the significance of the Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu federal constituency, which encompasses 14 kingdoms out of the 24 in Urhoboland.

He remarked on how, over the years, the constituency had diminished in its influence within Urhobo politics.

Despite having more registered voters than the other two federal constituencies combined in Delta Central, the PDP has struggled in past elections; however, Oguma expressed optimism that a process for revitalizing the party’s performance is already underway.

He underscored the importance of unity within the federal constituency as a fundamental goal.

“The aim of this meeting is to create a substantial platform for stakeholders to collaboratively outline a strategic approach for the PDP in the upcoming 2027 general elections,” he added.

The Udu/Ughelli federal constituency Executive team also includes Chief Eddie Ono-Sorhue as Deputy Chairman, Rt. Hon. Festus Ovie Agas as Secretary, Hon. George Oyefia as Treasurer, and Hon. Vincent Oyibode as Publicity Secretary.
