Mr. Charles Aniagwu, Delta State’s Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, has encouraged residents of Delta State to maintain their support for the administration of Sheriff Oborevwori as it seeks to enhance sustainable development through its MORE Agenda.
Aniagwu shared this message during an interview with reporters following his inspection of several infrastructure projects, including the Issele-Azagba/Otulu Road in Aniocha North Local Government Area, as well as the Idumu Etiti Street project in Owerre Olubor and the Mission Road/Ogboi Street project in Akumazi, both located in Ika North East Local Government Area.
He expressed satisfaction with the positive collaboration between the state government and communities, noting that Deltans are pleased with the ongoing road developments initiated by Governor Oborevwori.
The Commissioner highlighted the governor’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that state funds are effectively utilized for projects. He emphasized the importance of regular project inspections to guarantee quality outcomes.
“We are touring these sites to ensure that our investments yield the expected results. His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has made clear that we must obtain value for every naira spent in the road, housing, health, education, and other sectors,” Aniagwu stated.
“To achieve this, it is essential that we hold contractors accountable and ensure our field officers and engineers meet the required standards, delivering projects according to engineering specifications.”
He explained that they have been assessing projects across various local government areas to ensure accountability and value for public expenditure.
“The positive feedback from these communities has been overwhelming. Many have expressed their appreciation for the governor’s work, highlighting that development is being implemented across different regions.”
Aniagwu pointed out that the distribution of projects aligns with Governor Oborevwori’s vision for inclusive development and equitable opportunities for all citizens. “Our commitment to involving all 25 local government areas in developmental initiatives is genuine, and visitors to each area can see tangible projects underway.”
He remarked on the governor’s recognition for excellence in financial management and infrastructure development, indicating that these achievements are palpable. “While some individuals may misunderstand the progress being made, the reality is clear: Governor Oborevwori is dedicated to delivering results, and the ongoing projects are a testament to that.”
“Deltans are known for their appreciation of positive change, and as we approach 2027, I believe the people will vocalize their support loudly, recognizing the significant contributions of Governor Oborevwori,” Aniagwu concluded.
