*Says New Revenue Committees Will Be Constituted Soon

Following the collection of various categories of revenue from developers in Ughelli South Local Government Area, particularly in Usiefrun community, the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Dr. Lucky Irorefe Avweromre, has unequivocally stated that there is currently no standing revenue collection committee in the Local Government Area, as all revenue committees were dissolved in the first week of January 2025.
The council chairman, who made this known in a conversation with our correspondent, said new legally constituted revenue committees will be announced in February.
He emphasized that anyone collecting revenue under the pretense of being authorized by the council is doing so at their own risk, as revenue committees have not been inaugurated for the year 2025.
He explained that those appointed to the new committees will receive duly signed letters or certificates specifying their functions.
He advised all individuals currently collecting revenue from developers in Usiefrun and surrounding areas to cease their activities, as no revenue committee has been inaugurated for such collections.
