Governor Oborevwori Expresses Condolences, Calls for Immediate Relief Following Agbor Tanker Fire

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed his deepest sympathies to the families affected by the tragic fire incident involving a fallen diesel tanker in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, which occurred on Sunday.

According to reports, the tanker experienced a brake failure while approaching a traffic light junction, leading to an explosion that resulted in the deaths of four individuals.

In addition to the fatalities, three others sustained varying degrees of injuries due to the fire and its aftermath.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori conveyed his condolences to the Ika South Local Government and community, denouncing the incident as horrific.

He offered prayers for the rapid recovery of the injured and strength for the families of those who lost their lives.

The Governor has instructed the State Ministry of Health, the State Emergency Management Agency, and other relevant organizations to take immediate action to provide essential support to all those impacted by the incident.

He also commended the efforts of the Fire Service, local residents of Ika South, and security agencies for their swift response in extinguishing the flames and assisting those affected by this unfortunate event.
