In a heartwarming display of gratitude and unity, Chief Fullpower Orubure, a prominent politician in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, recently celebrated a remarkable milestone: 40 years of marriage.
Surrounded by his beloved wife, children, political associates, and friends, the Orubure family gathered at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Iwhrekpokpor, Ughelli North Local Government Area to honor this significant occasion with a poignant thanksgiving service.
In his speech, Chief Orubure reflected on the blessings and challenges of marriage, emphasizing the importance of faith, resilience, and commitment in nurturing a lasting relationship.
He expressed immense joy for the years spent with his wife, attributing their success to unwavering love and divine guidance.
According to him, “their celebration serves as a beacon of hope for couples facing the trials of marital life.
“In a society where divorce rates are on the rise, our story underscores the biblical principles of marriage that advocate for perseverance and love.
“Ephesians 4:2-3 encourages couples to be “completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love” and to strive for unity in the spirit of peace.
“Moreover, Malachi 2:16 reminds us that “the Lord is the witness between you and the wife of your youth,” highlighting the sacred commitment made before God.
“Our family’s experience is a testament to the idea that enduring love requires effort, understanding, and above all, a willingness to seek God’s guidance throughout life’s journey”, he added.
He stated that enduring love is possible, and with faith, a long and fulfilling marriage can be a legacy worth celebrating.
