A former chairmanship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in the recent Local Government Council election in Delta State, Hon. Lucky Oweimieotu, expressed his gratitude to God, despite not succeeding in the primary election.
Oweimieotu held a thanksgiving service on Sunday, December 22, 2023, at St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Owhase.
In his speech following the thanksgiving service, Oweimieotu stated that his decision to offer thanks was rooted in the absence of casualties or accidents throughout his campaign, which he saw as a testament to the protection he felt during that period.
He emphasized the importance of gratitude in all circumstances: “In every situation—whether in triumph or defeat—there is always a reason to give thanks to God, for He is the creator of the universe and the author of our lives,” he shared with the congregation.
The thanksgiving service brought together a gathering of goodwill, as Oweimieotu was joined by notable figures including the Chairman of the PDP in Burutu LGA, Chief Dr. Tam Odogwu; Director General Hon. Timi Angagha; ex-councilor Hon. Ramblas Tonfa; former Burutu LGA PDP Secretary Mr. Ayedi Ozano; pioneer Secretary of Burutu PDP Ward 8 Mr. Ben Amrabure; Chief Shokare Layefa; Christopher Oruma, Vice Chairman PDP Burutu Ward 8; Governor Dabor, Secretary PDP Burutu Ward 8; Idowu Stainless Emevor, former Chairman PDP Burutu Ward 8; Hon. Bernard Okoh, SA to the DESOPADEC Commissioner representing the Ijaw ethnic nationality; and Mr. Abel Keneakembo, former state officer of PDP Delta State.
Others in attendance included Arthur Kingsley, Oweipa Aloba, Togo A. Ogedegbe; former Ward 8 Women Leader Ebi Sunday; Patience Tamaratubo, SA for Women Mobilization to the Governor; Mr. Michael Ovwowhobre, former President General of the Bikorogha Community; Mr. Godwin Gnogiemi; Burutu council staff; supporters; friends; and well-wishers.
As he looks toward the future, Oweimieotu remains committed to serving his community, believing that his experiences will only strengthen his resolve.
He encouraged fellow aspirants and supporters to continue working towards collective progress, reminding them that every setback can be a stepping stone to greater achievements.
