In the spirit of the holiday season, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, the wife of the Delta Governor and founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, organized a festive Christmas party for children across the state on Thursday, December 19, 2024.

Held at Government House in Asaba, the event welcomed over 500 children representing all 25 Local Government Areas of Delta State, marking the second year of this delightful celebration under Deaconess Oborevwori’s leadership.

During her address to the gathered parents, the First Lady encouraged them to guide their children in the ways of faith, emphasizing the invaluable role children play in their families and the need for attentive parenting to nurture their growth.

To the younger attendees, she imparted wisdom on the importance of maintaining good values and prioritizing their education, even amidst the festivities. She encouraged them to keep their books handy to ensure they make both their families and the state proud.

Deaconess Oborevwori also highlighted the significance of generosity during the holiday period, urging everyone to share with less fortunate members of their communities.

The Governor’s wife offered heartfelt prayers for the children’s safety, prosperity, and health, wishing them a successful 2025, while expressing excitement for future celebrations.

The festive party included an array of enjoyable activities such as Bible recitation contests, dance competitions, and interactions with Santa Claus, along with other beloved cartoon characters.

In a touching moment, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the late Mrs. Oromoni, the wife of the Warri South West Council chairman, who recently passed away.

Key highlights of the event included lively group dances and the distribution of gifts to the 500 children, as well as prizes for competition winners. Deaconess Oborevwori also presented symbolic Christmas cakes to representatives from each of the 25 local government areas.
