Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, has encouraged Corps Members assigned to Delta State to embrace the core values of discipline, teamwork, respect, and appreciation for cultural diversity as they prepare for their upcoming roles.
Speaking on his behalf, the Honorable Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr ThankGod Trakiriowei, delivered this message during the formal swearing-in ceremony for the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 Orientation Course, held at the Permanent Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area.
The Governor emphasized that the NYSC Orientation Course is intentionally designed to promote discipline, unity, and readiness among Corps Members for their contributions to nation-building.
“I am delighted to be here today to welcome the vibrant young individuals who constitute the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 National Youth Service Corps Members assigned to Delta State,” he stated.
He assured the new Corps Members of the warm hospitality of Delta State residents and encouraged them to fully embrace the values that define the community.
“Delta State presents significant opportunities for growth, collaboration, and learning. I urge you to take full advantage of this opportunity and strive to create a positive legacy while also gaining valuable experiences that will shape your future,” the Governor added.
The State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr. John Vandi T. Kwaghe, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his steadfast support of NYSC activities.
Kwaghe noted that since the registration began on November 27, 2024, a total of 1,464 prospective Corps Members, including 682 males and 782 females, have been officially registered.
