Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has encouraged the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Solomon Arenyeka, to leverage his leadership role to enhance unity within the party and the state in anticipation of the 2027 general elections.
Governor Oborevwori delivered this message during a thanksgiving service held at Avenue Baptist Church on Okumagba Avenue, Warri, to celebrate Arenyeka’s appointment as the PDP Chairman in Delta State.

He emphasized the significance of gratitude, referencing Psalm 100 verse 4: “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name.” He shared, “Expressing thanks to God acknowledges His past deeds and reinforces our faith in His continued support. Your presence here today reflects your gratitude and faith, and I assure you that more blessings are on the way.”
The Governor acknowledged the divine role in Arenyeka’s leadership journey. “When the Itsekiri community chose you as their spokesperson to engage with our Isoko and Ijaw brothers, it was evident that this was part of God’s plan. Remember, it is God who provides power and assigns roles.”

Addressing the challenges that accompany leadership, Oborevwori urged Arenyeka to prioritize fairness and justice for the people. “Your humility and dedication have earned you the respect of many, making you an ideal candidate for this position. I pray that God fortifies you as you work to unite our great state and party.”
He noted the importance of Arenyeka’s role in promoting unity. “Your leadership is essential for fostering harmony within the state. The diverse group gathered here today, including members from opposition parties, is a reflection of your inclusive leadership and the hope you inspire.”

As Arenyeka assumes this significant responsibility, the Governor reminded him of the expectations of the Delta populace. “With God’s guidance, your leadership can propel us toward peace, progress, and prosperity. As we look ahead to 2027, we anticipate even greater achievements under your stewardship.”
In closing, Oborevwori highlighted the importance of thanksgiving, stating, “Let us remember that expressing gratitude invites even more blessings. Through your leadership, the benefits of democracy should reach every part of our state. Thank you for stepping forward to serve, and may God bless and empower you on this journey.”
Revd. Dr. Sylvester Ogheneakpobo, Lead Pastor of Avenue Baptist Church, also spoke during the service, emphasizing that gratitude for God’s blessings is essential in our daily lives.
The event saw the attendance of notable figures, including Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme, former Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and various state legislators and leaders, all uniting in celebration of Arenyeka’s new role.
