The Delta State Law Students Association of Nigeria (DELSAN) has expressed gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the disbursement of bursary funds to the 2022/2023 cohort of law students from the state attending the Nigerian Law School.
In an official letter signed by DELSAN National President Akosa Daniels and former National President Innocent Ighoawworua, the association praised Governor Oborevwori for his commendable leadership and enduring commitment to education and the development of human capital.
The letter highlighted that, “Your administration’s dedication to human development exemplifies your vision for a prosperous future for our state.”
The students noted, “The bursary has provided significant relief and motivation for Delta State students who were recently admitted to the Nigerian Bar on March 5th, 6th, and 7th, 2024, as confirmed Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This support has enabled many of us to pursue further academic aspirations and career goals without the burden of financial constraints.”
They also shared that the 2022/2023 Best Male Graduate of the Nigerian Law School, Umukoro Nyerovwo Godstime Esq., hails from Delta State, underscoring the talent fostered by the state’s educational initiatives.
Furthermore, the letter mentioned that Delta State produced over ten First Class graduates among the 251 recognized by the Bar, showcasing the state’s academic excellence and reflecting the impact of the Governor’s commitment to education.
DELSAN acknowledged Governor Oborevwori’s recognition of education’s critical role in shaping the future and commended his unwavering support for the welfare and development of students and graduates.
They expressed appreciation for his proactive measures aimed at alleviating the financial obstacles to academic success.
“This support has renewed our confidence in your leadership and vision, motivating us to strive for academic excellence and push boundaries, knowing we have your support,” the letter concluded.
The association committed to maximizing this opportunity, aiming to become valuable contributors to the advancement of Delta State and beyond while continually making the state proud.
