Delta Speaker Praises Pointer Newspaper’s Board, Management Following Award of Excellence

Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, has extended his gratitude to the Board, Management, and staff of The Pointer Newspaper for honoring him with the “Certificate of Excellence in Public Service” as part of the newspaper’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

During the grand event organized by the newspaper to mark its milestone, Rt. Hon. Guwor expressed that receiving this award is a significant honor not only for him but also for his constituents and the entire State Legislature.

As the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, he, through his Chief Press Secretary Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, conveyed his humble appreciation for this prestigious recognition.

The Speaker emphasized that the award reflects both his dedication to public service and the relentless efforts of his colleagues at the Delta State House of Assembly.

Rt. Hon. Guwor reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Delta State and expressed his intention to continuously recognize the teamwork that underpins any achievements made in his role as a public servant.

“This Certificate of Excellence motivates me to persistently strive for the betterment of our society,” he stated. “I dedicate this award to my constituents and the Delta State House of Assembly, who have entrusted me with the honor of serving as Speaker.”

On the occasion of the newspaper’s 30th anniversary, he congratulated the Management and staff for their remarkable journey and unwavering dedication to responsible journalism.

The Speaker commended Pointer Newspaper for its consistent excellence in storytelling, investigative reporting, and community engagement.

He urged the publication to maintain its focus on fostering public discourse that promotes peace, unity, development, and good governance in Delta State.
