The Delta State Ministry of Health is set to conduct a free and compulsory hypertension and diabetes screening exercise from October 28 to November 3, 2024.
This initiative aims to promote health awareness and provide vital health services to residents across the state.
According the a statement by the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Governor’s Office, Asaba, screening will take place at various locations, including the Delta State Secretariat on Mariam Babanginda Way in Asaba, state government hospitals, the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba Specialist Hospital, and numerous other sites such as universities, churches, mosques, and market places.
A comprehensive list of locations includes: Delta State Secretariat, Asaba, State Government Hospitals, Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba Specialist Hospital, Government House Clinic, Police Clinic, SSG’s Office, Head of Service Office, Universities and Polytechnic campuses, Colleges of Education and Higher Institutions, Churches and Mosques,vMarket Places, Prisons, Public Health Centers and Local Government Council Secretariats.
The statement pointed out that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori emphasized the inclusive nature of this initiative, asserting that it is open to all Deltans, regardless of political affiliation, religion, or ethnicity.
“Health officials from the Delta State Ministry of Health will be present at designated centers across the three senatorial districts and all 25 local government areas.
“This is an important opportunity for residents to prioritize their health and well-being.
“Residents are encouraged to mark their calendars and take advantage of this crucial health screening.
“Don’t miss the chance to invest in your health by participating in this valuable initiative”, it added.
