Comrade Emmanuel Sakpakpa, has expressed his deep sorrow over the death of his esteemed boss, Hon. Benson Omoko, a former councilor of the Ughelli South Local Government Council Legislative Arm.
Omoko who hails from Okwagbe-Inland community, Ukpedi Sub-clan, Ughievwen Kingdom, passed away on 14th October, 2024 in the United Kingdom after a prolonged battle with illness, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated public service and unwavering commitment to his people.
Sakpakpa conveyed his condolences during a recent visit to the widow and son (Obed Omoko) of the late councilor, who resides in Manchester, United Kingdom.
The visit was marked by a somber atmosphere as friends and family gathered to pay their respects.
“Hon. Omoko was not just a leader; he was a mentor and a father figure to many of us,” Sakpakpa stated, his voice filled with emotion. “His contributions to Ughelli South will forever be remembered.”
During the visit, Sakpakpa comforted Omoko’s wife, son and family, sharing fond memories and stories of her late husband’s impact on his life and the people.
“We shared many laughs and challenges together,” he recalled. “His passion for serving the people was infectious, and he inspired all who had the privilege to work with him.”
