The leaders of the Bilabiri 1 community in the Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have unequivocally refuted an online publication claiming that they have been dethroned from their leadership positions.
The online publication, made recently by Mr. Lucky Tubotu Dereateidei, alleged that they were forcefully removed from their roles.
In a statement signed by Chiefs Peter Pinne, Kingsley Joseph, Amos Allison, and David Okuru, the leaders asserted that there was no truth to the claims made in the publication.
They clarified that the late Mr. Frank B. Seide, whose death was cited as a reason for their alleged dethronement, died during a community crisis on April 1, 2021.
“The matter was resolved long ago, and even the Bayelsa State Government is aware that it was settled at Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State, in the presence of High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, a.k.a. Tompolo.
“The late Frank Seide was buried with the assistance of the Bayelsa State Government.”
They noted in the statement that Mr. Lucky Tubotu has been banned from entering the Bilabiri 1 community.
“If Mr. Dereateidei is dissatisfied with how High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo handled the situation, he should address his concerns directly with him,” it added.
The community leaders are calling on security agencies to take action against Mr. Lucky Tubotu Dereateidei for causing unrest in Bilabiri 1.
