The Bilabiri I Community in Ekeremor Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, strongly refutes a publication dated September 24, 2024, that inaccurately tarnishes the reputations of Ebimene Abaka, Tekenane Abaka, and Bright Wilson Esopi.

In a joint statement signed by notable leaders such as HRH Soja Dede, Abiodun Commander, High Chief Friday Gelu, High Chief Esau Olumofa, Mr. Douglass Aaron, Pastor Ebike Adam, and Mrs. Ebitei Lucky, we express our collective shock and concern over the damaging misrepresentations that threaten the tranquility of our community.

Thanks to the efforts of High Chief Oweizide Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), past disagreements amongst community members have been resolved, leading to a renewed sense of harmony and the establishment of regulations that promote safety and order.

We categorically reject the unfounded accusations made by Lucky Tubotu, which allege the presence of armed militias and suggest that residents are abandoning their homes in fear.

Contrary to these claims, our community is thriving, unified, and looking forward to the opportunities presented by the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act.

We call on the public to dismiss this misleading report and urge Mr. Lucky Tubotu, his backers, and the affiliated media organization to retract the statements made, as well as issue a sincere apology within the next seven working days.

We would like to assure all stakeholders, including the Federal and Bayelsa State Governments, that Bilabiri I community remains peaceful, with even Tantita security personnel living harmoniously within our community.
