Police Arrest Two Persons With 88 Stolen Phones in Delta

The police in Delta state have apprehended two individuals who specialize in the purchase and sale of stolen phones in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area, Delta state.
In a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, to highlight the law enforcement achievements in Delta state from June to the present, it was reported that the suspects were apprehended at Hausa Quarters, Warri.
The statement clarified that on 14/07/2024 at approximately 16:45, the individuals were arrested based on credible intelligence.
According to the statement, “Abibu Haruna, aged 37, and Sanusi Huruna, aged 22, both residents of Hausa Quarters, Warri, were apprehended in possession of a bag containing 55 iPhones, one HP Laptop, two Android Tablets, and 33 Android Phones.
“During further questioning, the suspects admitted to purchasing the aforementioned phones and laptop from two suspected armed robbers, Nasiru and Ghala, whose full names are unknown, and who operate in Hausa Quarters, Warri.
“They disclosed that they usually transport the phones to Niger Republic using a trailer carrying scraps, with a certain Agaji, whose full name is unknown, residing in Niger Republic, acting as their sponsor.
“Subsequent investigation revealed that some of the phones were among those stolen during an armed robbery targeting students at Niger Delta University,” the statement concluded.
